Art is more than creating to sell

There is a lot more to Art than just creating a piece and making another buyer happy.

When running your own business, there is a blurred line between making sure each price is fair enough for people to want to purchase your work, and making sure you are able to make enough money to supply your art work’s needs. When finalizing the full price to any service/ product there are many details that go in to the outcome, let me explain.

Materials

Each and every piece that is created it takes material to make it. Like my oil painting service, every painting I create demands a portion of my materials. When you purchase my service, It keeps the company supplied with the materials necessary to create your unique piece.

When you order a Flower Press there are so many materials needed to create just one Press. By your purchase you are funding to new Floral Press materials, wood sheets, foam, paper (that can only last so long when used in pressing multiple orders) glass, shipping boxes and tape. When you’ve selected the frame size you’d like for the service, your commission is included in purchasing the frame needed for your press.

Time

Creating art is a complete dream of mine, especially creating for other people. When you place an order and get in contact with me, that in itself takes time to sort out each client and making sure you are in proper communication.

When you place the Flower Preservation service for a Bridal Bouquet your commission is paying me by the hour. Usually one whole bouquet takes about 2 almost 3 Hours to press. As well as replacing moist paper and spacers acouple of rotations through the week in between the pressing process can take up to 1-2 hours. The whole process of live florals transitioning to dried pressed florals can take up to 2-3 weeks.

Arranging and glueing the florals on the delicate glass takes between 2-3 hours to finalize, as well as making sure all dust and smudges are off the inner glass can take up to 45 minutes. When framing the floral press it can take up to an hour to make sure each and every flower is intact in its arranged position, and all pressure points of the framing process is perfectly balanced and hangable.

Your Commission to my service pays up to 10 hours of service for just ONE order.

Quality

As an artist I am extremely hard on myself and the art I strive to create. Quality matters and it is not something to be taken lightly. My art represents my effort and work, and great quality is something that comes with the price. I want your investment to show years and years down the road. It’s amazing to me how long true quality art can really last. Like the Mona Lisa, sure her color has faded in time like all things will but even after 519 years, She is still representing herself in its own artistic meaning, just as Leonardo da Vinci intended. That’s something I strive for each of my pieces, to show a lasting legacy as time goes by.

I want my pieces to last a lifetime and that in itself represents the materials used to create, my hardwork and time, ultimately resulting in the quality of each piece. Your contribution to your order truly does matter to me in investing your trust in to my work and passion, brings me the greatest joy.

Showing that, Art truly is more than just creating something to sell.
