Hi! I’m Emily, but you can call me Em.

I am a believer of Christ, thrift queen, Wife and obsessed with anything that requires a little creativity and critical thinking.
Born & raised in a more rural part of the “sunshine state”, I spent my childhood with my older siblings, often surrounded by nature and wild flowers. We spent hours playing in the pine forest and fields nearby our home. Little did I know, creating those special memories would stir a lifelong passion in my heart.
Creating art has always been a part of who I am. My mom tells stories of me as a three year old, spending hours at a time drawing at my little desk in my room. That love of drawing only continued to develop as I got older. I’d spend many of my days doodling away in my room.
It wasn't until high school that I pursued my calling more seriously and began to believe in myself and my artistic ability.

An active member of the art club, I completed multiple collegiate art classes and was recognized in several state wide art competitions. One of the most memorable, was winning runner up in our county’s annual art competition, where my painting spent the year hung in our county commissioners office.
It was around that time that I knew art would always have a special place in my life, somehow. Since then I’ve opened the door to many more creative trades. I’ve discovered my passion for homemaking and learning to honor God’s design in my purpose. I am learning what makes a house a home, refurbishing furniture, sewing my own clothes, sourdough baking, jewelry making, wood burning, digital design, interior design, cooking and… (you guessed it) flower pressing!
I look forward to sharing even more about the different ways God is leading my heart, and pray he would use Vintage Elegance to bring him glory.

How did Vintage Elegance Co. come to be?

It all started with a single flower. My boyfriend, Now Husband has a sweet habit of picking me flowers. Whether it be from his own yard, the side of the road, or a field near my house, he often surprises me with little bundles of happy flowers. After he gifted me this beautiful, pink knockout rose from his frontyard, I knew I had to keep it forever somehow. So, I pressed it. I didn’t have any idea what I was doing really, but I prayed it would work.
A few weeks inside a dictionary, under a few bricks, and I had created my very first flower press!

Fast forward couple of years, and Vintage Elegance Co. was born in 2019. Since then I’ve pressed many flowers for many occasions; weddings, funerals, custom pieces.

Through the years I have found many passions in creating other than just pressing florals, like homemaking / interior design. Something about recreating a space that you live in can change your outlook and mood, drastically.
Creating something to add to a wall or space is the biggest joy to me.

Through time I look forward to all of my creative outlooks to be shown on this platform. Homesteading, art, interior design, and my faith as a Christian.
